Job summary

Towson University in Towson, MD is seeking an on-site Project Manager to lead multiple construction, renovation, and infrastructure projects through all phases, from programming to closeout, ensuring scope, schedule, and budget adherence.

You will coordinate with university departments, consultants, and contractors, manage procurement and contracts, monitor safety and quality, and promote sustainability and campus integration while supporting Facilities Operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• At least three years of related work experience.
• Working knowledge of general construction and industry practices.
• Basic knowledge of Life/Safety Hazmat and fire regulations.
• On-site project management experience.
• OSHA30, LEED, or PMP certifications preferred.
• Experience with Bluebeam and Procore preferred.

Responsibilities

• Project Management & Delivery – Manage multiple small- to medium-sized construction, renovation, deferred maintenance, and infrastructure projects through all phases of delivery, including programming, design, procurement, construction, occupancy, and project closeout.
• Stakeholder Coordination – Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned projects by coordinating with university departments, faculty, staff, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Procurement & Contract Administration – Coordinate procurement activities in accordance with university policies and applicable regulations. Assist with consultant and contractor selection, administer contracts, review change orders, and process payment requests while maintaining project documentation.
• Financial Management- Develop and monitor project budgets, review project expenditures, track contingency usage, and assist in maintaining fiscal accountability throughout project execution. Coordinate with appropriate university departments regarding funding and project financial reporting.
• Construction Administration – Monitor construction activities to verify compliance with contract documents, project schedules, quality expectations, and safety requirements. Coordinate with contractors, consultants, inspectors, and Facilities staff to resolve construction issues and facilitate project completion.
• Sustainability & Campus Integration- Promote sustainable design and construction practices aligned with university goals. Ensure projects integrate seamlessly with campus infrastructure and long-term master planning.
• Operational Support – Provide project management support and technical consultation to Operations & Maintenance for facility improvement projects, building repairs, and operational needs as assigned.
