Job summary

Middlebury College is seeking a Box Office student employee to support concerts, plays, and campus events. The role involves selling tickets, answering inquiries, and assisting with merchandise both online and in person.

The position pays $14.50 per hour and requires PCI training for access to credit card information. Candidates should be reliable, outgoing, and flexible to cover day, evening, and weekend shifts on campus.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience preferred.
• Sales or cashier experience helpful.
• Retail experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Arrive on time and check daily updates at start of work shift.
• Sell tickets and merchandise through internet sales, phone, and counter sales.
• Answer phones and assist customers.
• Field customer inquiries and problems using Box Office materials and online resources.
• Be familiar with Middlebury College Arts and Events calendar.
• Count and balance cash drawers and at end of day.
• Marketing assistance including distribution of posters, brochures, and social media, etc.
• Archiving of Arts events.
• Keep work area neat and organized, empty recycling and trash as needed.
• Willingness and flexibility to work day, evening and weekend shifts for Box Office supported events.
• Must be reliable, courteous and outgoing.
• Represent Middlebury College to the community.
• Performs other duties as assigned to assist the department in obtaining and maintaining its mission.
• Schedule availability that includes some weekday hours (Tues - Fri 10 - 5) as well as some evening and weekend availability (Thurs - Sun). All Box Office workers must be willing to work a combination of daytime office shifts and evening/weekend performance/event shifts.
• Experience: Customer Service experience desired
• Knowledge/Skills: Sales or Cashier experience helpful. Retail experience a plus
