Job summary

The University of New Mexico Bookstore on North Campus is seeking multiple Sales Assistants to serve students, faculty and community members. This student employment role involves in-person, phone, and email customer support, data entry, clerical tasks, and POS operations.

You will help maintain the sales floor, stock and merchandise according to guidelines, and adapt to Bookstore policies. Growth opportunities exist via the Student Lead program while schedules accommodate academic commitments.

Qualifications

• Must be a student registered for at least 6 credit hours for the Fall semester.
• Customer-focused, energetic personality.
• Dependable, punctual attendance.
• Basic math, keyboarding, and data entry skills.
• Experience in retail, customer service, or sales.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to multi-task and maintain a positive attitude.
• Experience using Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in person, over the phone, and via email.
• Perform data entry, clerical work, and POS functions as needed.
• Maintain the sales floor by cleaning, stocking, and merchandising according to guidelines.
• Abide by UNM and Bookstore policies and procedures, and perform other duties as assigned.
