Job summary

The University of Kansas is seeking a Classroom Audio/Visual Support Technician to deliver day-to-day AV support for classrooms, conference rooms, and departmental spaces on KU's Lawrence campus. You will troubleshoot hardware and software, manage tickets, and ensure minimal downtime while delivering excellent customer service.

You will assist with new installations, help with inventory, and stay current on classroom technology developments.

Qualifications

Required: High school diploma/GED.
Two years or more experience in audio/visual technology support in an academic or corporate environment.
Experience supporting computer hardware and software in an academic or corporate environment.
Experience providing customer service in an academic or corporate environment.
Effective written communication skills, as demonstrated in application materials.

Responsibilities

Provide trouble calls/tickets for in-session classes, events and departmental spaces to ensure minimal downtime and assign tickets as needed.
Troubleshoot both hardware and software issues and repair or replace installed audio/visual equipment.
Assist with classroom technology installations and inventory tracking on projects involving classroom technologies.
Co-manage student employees, stay current on certifications and training related to KU IT standards.
