Job summary

LoneHollow Ranch is seeking an experienced Food Service Manager to lead kitchen and dining operations at the Texas Hill Country camp. You will uphold sanitation standards, manage inventory, plan menus, and mentor staff and volunteers.

Requirements include at least four years in food service, two years of college or culinary training, supervisory experience, and strong communication skills. Salary listed ranges from $40,750 to $50,975 per year.

Qualifications

• Two years college completed and/or two years professional culinary training or apprenticeship through an accredited school.
• At least four years work experience in the food service industry.
• At least one of those four years in a managerial or managerial support role.
• Young Life background (volunteer, camping experience, etc.)
• Clear, professional communication skills – both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Operation and maintenance of all food service related equipment.
• Ensure high quality standards are maintained regarding cleanliness and overall appearance of the kitchen and dining room areas.
• Operation of the kitchen and dining hall systems.
• Uphold the Young Life Food Service Standards as adopted by the Camping Department.
• Minimize waste and develop a recycling program; train staff accordingly.
• Purchase food, paper, chemicals and equipment while maintaining inventory control; manage costs.
• May be required to lift materials weighing 60 pounds to stock shelves.
• Hire and train volunteers, work crew, summer staff, and other staff; maintain training matrices.
