Job summary

LoneHollow Ranch in the scenic Texas Hill Country is seeking a Food Service Manager to oversee kitchen and dining operations and maintain high sanitation standards. You will train volunteers and staff, manage inventory and food costs, and ensure adherence to Young Life policies across camp operations.

The role requires leadership, organizational skills, and excellent communication to support diverse teams and guest experiences at LoneHollow Ranch.

Qualifications

• Two years college completed and/or two years professional culinary training or apprenticeship.
• At least four years work experience in the food service industry.
• At least one of those four years in a managerial or managerial support role.
• Young Life background (volunteer, camping experience, etc.).
• Experience in organizing tasks and supervising people.
• Experience in managing the administrative aspects of the Food Service department.
• Clear, professional communication skills - both verbal and written.
• Note: Young Life is a relational ministry.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain all food service equipment.
• Ensure high quality cleanliness and appearance of kitchen and dining areas; train staff on procedures.
• Stay current with new procedures and equipment in the food service industry.
• Operate the kitchen and dining hall systems.
• Uphold Young Life Food Service Standards adopted by the Camping department.
• Minimize waste and encourage recycling by developing a recycling program.
• Train staff to save and reuse leftovers.
• Purchase food and supplies while maintaining inventory control.
• Administrate all food cost tracking procedures.
• Hire and train volunteers and staff.
• Maintain staff training matrix.
• Menu development with healthy dietary criteria and perform related calculations.
• Participate in inter-property quality assurance audits.
