Job summary

Qualifications

• Retail experience required
• Bakery/cake decorating experience preferred
• Ability to stay calm under pressure
• Basic math skills
• Effective communication skills

Responsibilities

• Assist customers and respond to questions about products
• Provide bakery samples and prepare bakery items per requests
• Recommend bakery items to customers
• Check product quality and freshness, monitor sell-by dates
• Decorate cakes, pastries, cupcakes, cookies
• Label, stock, sign, and inventory department merchandise
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies
• Navigate store layout and locate products for customers
• Maintain inventory awareness and note discrepancies
• Follow health, safety and regulatory regulations
• Follow merchandising, customer service, labor, expense and safety rules
• Reinforce safety programs and report unsafe conditions
• Inspect equipment and report repair needs
• Report safety risks incl robbery/theft/fraud
• Perform essential job functions with/without accommodation
