Job summary

Kroger in Wisconsin stores seeks a Bakery Associate to create an outstanding customer experience and keep a safe, clean environment. You will assist the department manager in achieving sales and quality standards while following all health and safety guidelines.

You will answer questions, decorate cakes and pastries, demo products, stock merchandise, and maintain inventory while ensuring freshness and proper labeling.

• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Knowledge of basic math.
• Effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service.
• Answer questions regarding products and assist customers within the department and store.
• Offer product samples and prepare bakery items, including wedding cakes, per customer requests.
• Decorate cakes, pastries, cupcakes, cookies and other bakery items.
• Label, stock, sign, and inventory department merchandise.
• Ensure product freshness by checking sell-by dates and operating bakery equipment properly.
• Adhere to health, safety and store policies; maintain a clean, safe environment.
• Report discrepancies and assist with inventory and merchandising tasks.
• Support department manager in achieving sales and quality goals.
