Job summary

Whole Foods Market in Fayetteville, AR seeks a Bakery Decorator to create and decorate cakes, tarts, pastries, and special-order items. Use artistic talents to finish high-quality goods while upholding safety and quality standards.

Minimum 6–12 months retail or restaurant experience and completion of the Bakery Decorator Apprentice program (or equivalent). Must lift 50 lbs and work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Efficient cake and pastry decorating skills.
• Intermediate piping techniques and ability to create decorative flowers and borders.
• Understand color theory for buttercream colors and palettes.
• Follow recipes and procedures; manage time effectively.
• Advanced knife handling and safety with tools.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, fill, and finish/decorate cakes, tarts, pastries, and special-order items.
• Build and decorate cakes per standard procedures; maintain production and spoilage records.
• Prioritize production lists and adjust as needed.
• Merchandise products in display cases and monitor freshness and rotation.
• Provide guidance to Bakery Decorator Apprentices and team members.
• Create custom order cake designs based on customer preferences.
• Deliver excellent customer service and assist with phones and pages.
