Job summary

Whole Foods Market is seeking a Bakery Decorator to create and decorate cakes, tarts, pastries, and special-order items with artistic skill to meet quality standards.

Responsibilities include finishing bakery items, following recipes, and maintaining a clean, safe work area while providing outstanding service to customers and team members. A Bakery Decorator Apprentice training program or equivalent experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Efficient cake and pastry decorating skills with piping techniques.
• Understand color theory for buttercream and palettes.
• Follow recipes and procedures with good time management.
• Advanced knife handling and safety when using tools.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, fill, and finish/decorate cakes, tarts, and other bakery items.
• Build, ice, and decorate cakes following standard procedures and maintain records.
• Prioritize production lists and adjust as needed.
• Merchandise items and ensure display quality and freshness.
• Support Bakery Decorator Apprentices and other Team Members.
• Create special order cake designs per customer preferences.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain a clean environment.
• Open/close duties and ensure accurate signage and pricing.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
