Job summary

Whole Foods Market seeks a Bakery Decorator to craft and decorate cakes, tarts, pastries, and special orders with artistry and precision. You will follow recipes, maintain safety standards, and support apprentices while delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced grocery setting.

The role requires decorating expertise, knowledge of icing techniques, color theory, and the ability to manage time and tasks efficiently. A flexible schedule including nights and weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• Must have decorating skills for cakes and pastries with piping and floral work.
• Experience in a bakery or grocery retail is preferred.
• Ability to follow recipes and maintain accurate production records.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, fill, and finish/decorate cakes, tarts, and special-order items.
• Build, ice, and decorate cakes following standard procedures.
• Prioritize production lists and adjust as needed.
• Merchandise products in display cases and ensure freshness.
• Provide guidance for Bakery Decorator Apprentices and team members.
• Create designs for customer special orders.
• Deliver excellent customer service and handle phones promptly.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary workspace and safe equipment.
• Perform opening, mid, and closing duties with signage accuracy.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
