Job summary

Whole Foods Market is seeking a Bakery Decorator to create and decorate cakes, tarts, and pastries, including special orders. You will use artistic skills to finish products to match quality standards while supporting store programs and food safety compliance.

Responsibilities include decorating, rotating stock, mentoring apprentices, and delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment. Flexible scheduling and adherence to company safety rules are expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6–12 months retail or restaurant experience.
• Completion of the Bakery Decorator Apprentice training program or equivalent experience.
• Prior experience in a professional bakery or grocery retail is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, fill, and finish/decorate cakes, tarts, pastries, and special-order items.
• Build, ice, and decorate cakes and other bakery items following standard procedures.
• Prioritize production lists and adjust as needed.
• Merchandise products in display cases and monitor freshness and rotation.
• Provide guidance to Bakery Decorator Apprentices and team members.
• Create special order cake designs per customer preferences.
• Deliver excellent customer service and handle phones promptly.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the work and shopping areas.
• Perform opening, mid, and closing duties and ensure signage accuracy.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
