Job summary

Whole Foods Market is seeking a Bakery Decorator to craft and decorate cakes, tarts, pastries, and special-order items with artistic precision. You will ensure high-quality finishes, support Core Values, and assist Apprentices while upholding food safety standards.

Responsibilities include decorating, following recipes, maintaining cleanliness, and providing outstanding customer service in a fast-paced bakery environment. Experience in retail or restaurant settings is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6-12 months retail or restaurant experience.
• Bakery Decorator Apprentice training program or equivalent experience.
• Prior experience in a professional bakery or grocery retail is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, fill, and finish/decorate cakes, tarts, select pastry, and special-order bakery items.
• Build, ice, and decorate cakes and other bakery items following standard procedures to meet business demand; complete production and spoilage records.
• Prioritize production lists and adjust as needed.
• Merchandise products in the display case and ensure freshness and proper rotation.
• Provide guidance for Apprentices and Team Members.
• Create special order cake designs based on customer preferences.
• Deliver excellent customer service and assist customers promptly.
• Maintain clean, sanitary workspace and follow safety standards.
• Perform opening, mid, and closing duties with accurate signage and pricing.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
