Qualifications

• Efficient cake and pastry decorating skills with intermediate piping techniques.
• Understanding color theory for buttercream blending and palette coordination.
• Ability to apply diverse icings and finishes (Swiss/ American Buttercream, Ganache, Cream Cheese Icing, Whipped Cream, Meringue).
• Ability to follow recipes, directions, and procedures; good time management and organization.
• Advanced knife handling and equipment safety.
• Basic math for recipe conversions and modifications.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, fill, and finish/decorate cakes, tarts, and special‑order items.
• Build, ice, and decorate cakes following standard procedures; complete production records.
• Prioritize production lists and adjust as needed.
• Merchandise products in display cases; monitor freshness and rotate stock.
• Provide guidance for Bakery Decorator Apprentices and team members.
• Create special order cake designs per customer preferences.
• Deliver excellent customer service and handle inquiries promptly.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary workspace and comply with safety standards.
• Perform opening, mid, and closing duties including signage accuracy.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
