Qualifications

• Efficient cake and pastry decorating skills with piping techniques.
• Understand color theory for buttercream colors and palettes.
• Ability to apply icing techniques including Swiss Buttercream, Ganache, and various frostings.
• Follow recipes and procedures; strong time management.
• Advanced knife handling and safety.
• Basic math for recipe conversions.
• Strong communication and teamwork.
• Deliver clear customer service and support to customers, vendors, and teammates.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with urgency.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, fill, and finish/decorate cakes, tarts, and special-order items.
• Build, ice, and decorate cakes and other bakery items following standard procedures.
• Prioritize production lists and adjust as needed.
• Merchandise products in the display case and ensure freshness.
• Guide Bakery Decorator Apprentices and team members.
• Create special order cake designs based on customer preferences.
• Provide excellent customer service; handle phones and inquiries promptly.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work and shop environment.
• Perform opening, mid, and closing duties and ensure accurate pricing.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
