Job summary

Opaa! Food Management, Inc. is a dedicated school nutrition partner seeking a kitchen associate to assist with breakfast and lunch service, catering, and various kitchen tasks. You will work across the kitchen to ensure quality meals and efficient service in a school environment.

The role emphasizes correct food handling, menu execution, and teamwork, with opportunities to operate essential kitchen equipment and maintain a clean, safe work area.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence and present information clearly.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the set-up of serving lines daily and ensure food is held at the required temperatures.
• Assist in preparation of foods according to the menu plan and Opaa! recipes; plan for next day menus.
• Operate slicers, mixers, grinders and other equipment with proper certification.
• Keep work areas neat, clean, and organized; maintain FIFO inventory practices.
• Clean kitchen and cafeteria areas, equipment, and dishes; monitor storage areas.
• Prepare baked goods as required by the menu; present items appealingly to customers.
• Serve items with proper portions and utensils; ensure quality presentation and hospitality.
