Job summary

Harrah’s is seeking a Cook I to ensure superior food preparation and plating in a fast-paced kitchen. You will fill orders quickly and plate dishes to standard while maintaining a safe, clean work environment.

The role requires 6 months of cook or cook’s helper experience, a valid local food handler’s card, the ability to read/write English, and the ability to provide your own tools. Teamwork and reliable communication are essential; familiarity with a POS system is a plus.

Qualifications

• 6 months of cook or cook’s helper experience.
• Food handler’s card / sanitation certificate required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must provide own tools.
• Good customer service and communication skills are required.
• POS system knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, cooks and seasons all food to standards quickly and efficiently.
• Cooks items such as salads, appetizers, beef, poultry, seafood, etc.
• Utilizes fry cook, broiler and garde manger stations effectively.
• Controls food production including cooking methods, times and temperatures.
• Maintains kitchen sanitation and equipment cleanliness.
• Reads, writes and speaks English; performs other duties as assigned for a Cook I.
