Job summary

HEI Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Kitchen Associate to prepare food for the Associate Cafeteria, ensuring quality and adhering to production and portion standards. You will manage time-sensitive prep, rotate perishables, and assist in cost-control while maintaining cleanliness and health-safety standards.

You will work in a fast-paced hotel environment on the Riverwalk, with opportunities for growth and access to HEI’s benefits programs and campus amenities.

Qualifications

• Finger/hand dexterity to operate food machinery.
• Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry, and move goods weighing up to 100 lbs.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food of consistent quality following recipe cards and production and portion standards.
• Start food items that are prepared ahead of time, avoiding over-preparation.
• Date all food containers and rotate perishables, keeping them at proper temperatures.
• Check pars for shift use and ensure adequate supply during lunch and dinner hours.
• Maintain cleanliness of Associate Cafeteria and ensure food is presented and stored per health standards.
• Assist in preventing food costs, waste, and losses per HEI standards.
