Job summary

HEI Hotels & Resorts in San Diego Bay - Downtown is seeking a kitchen team member to prepare food of consistent quality and assist in a range of kitchen functions. This role supports dining operations and buffet, following recipes and standards.

You will handle food items, monitor temperatures, restock, and work with servers. Hotel experience preferred; ability to lift up to 100 lbs; strong communication; training and benefits included.

Qualifications

• Hotel experience preferred.
• Finger/hand dexterity to operate food machinery.
• Able to lift up to 100 lbs on a continuous schedule.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food of consistent quality following recipes and standards.
• Start items prepared ahead of time and manage portions.
• Date and rotate perishables, keep temperatures safe.
• Check pars, assist in buffet stock, note shortages.
• Return unused items and assist in cost control.
• Set up plans to correct food cost problems and reduce waste.
• Operate and clean kitchen equipment and maintain cleanliness.
• Maintain regular attendance and perform other duties as assigned.
