Job summary

La Colombe is seeking a Shift Lead to guide a cafe/kitchen team on shift, delivering an exceptional customer experience. You will coach staff, supervise kitchen operations, and ensure smooth production flow while maintaining a clean, safe environment.

You will lead by example during opening/closing tasks, provide real-time feedback, and help train new team members to uphold high standards of hospitality and efficiency. This role emphasizes teamwork and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience leading a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Working knowledge of kitchen production systems: pars, prep flow, pack-out accuracy, FIFO, labeling, and cold‑case management.
• Ability to uphold kitchen standards around food safety, cleanliness, organization, and sanitation.

Responsibilities

• Lead hospitality interactions to connect with customers and provide recommendations.
• Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations with clear communication to managers and team; manage production timing and staffing challenges.
• Plan daily production, track pars, and ensure orders, prep, and pack-out are completed accurately and on time; maintain organization and cleanliness.
• Serve as Leader on Duty, coaching employees, providing feedback, and directing tasks during shifts.
• Assist in training new kitchen team members and open/close kitchen tasks with accountability.
• Create a visually appealing retail space; manage shift inventory and merchandising.
