Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Intelligent Modeling Coordinator to support transit and multimodal projects. You will coordinate models across architecture, transportation structures, roadway design, and MEP to deliver federated, clash-checked deliverables.

The role requires strong knowledge of Autodesk tools (Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks) and the ability to mentor staff, enforce standards, and interface with clients and subconsultants.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with vocational training in CADD drafting and intelligent modeling.
• 12 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Cross-discipline coordination — coordinate intelligent models across architecture, vertical structures, transportation structures, roadway design, and MEP into a single federated model.
• Model coordination & clash detection — run clash detection in Navisworks and lead resolution across disciplines.
• Standards & governance — establish and enforce CADD/BIM standards and workflows.
• Mentorship & guidance — mentor production staff and provide design sketches for finished drawings.
• Acts as Intelligent Modeling Coordinator for projects during the lifecycle to ensure team coordination.
• Crosscheck drawings for consistency with QC standards.
• CADD/technical support tasks including model health/versioning and interoperability across Autodesk and Bentley tools.
• Review manufacturers' or fabricators' prints for design aid.
• Determine material needs and perform calculations per standards.
• Establish design criteria for project phases and provide planning input.
