Job summary

CDM Smith in the United States is seeking an Intelligent Modeling Coordinator to manage cross-discipline BIM delivery on transit and multimodal projects. You will integrate models across architecture, structures, transportation, roadway design, and MEP into a federated, clash-checked set of deliverables.

The role requires deep knowledge of Autodesk tools, model health, and standards governance, with mentorship responsibilities and collaboration with clients and subs. Travel up to 10% is expected.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with vocational training in basic CADD drafting technology and intelligent modeling.
• 12 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Cross-discipline coordination — acts as the firm's go-to Intelligent Modeling Coordinator for transit and multimodal projects, coordinating deliverables across multiple design disciplines.
• Model coordination & clash detection — runs clash detection and leads resolution across disciplines.
• Standards & governance — establishes and enforces BIM standards and workflows across offices.
• Mentorship & guidance — mentors production staff and provides design sketches for finished drawings.
• Interfaces with clients and agencies — aligns model deliverable requirements and data handoff standards.
• BIM planning — develops BIM Execution Plans and advises on scope and LOE.
