Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Intelligent Modeling Coordinator for transit and multimodal projects across US offices. You will coordinate models across architecture, structures, transportation, roadway design, and MEP into a single federated, clash-checked model throughout the project lifecycle.

The role requires strong CAD/BIM standards knowledge and experience with Autodesk tools (Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Revit) and Navisworks.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with vocational technical training in basic CADD drafting technology and intelligent modeling.
• 12 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Cross-discipline coordination — as the firm’s go-to Intelligent Modeling Coordinator for transit and multimodal projects.
• Model coordination & clash detection — runs clash detection in Navisworks and leads resolution across disciplines.
• Standards & governance — establishes, documents, and enforces CADD/BIM standards and workflows.
• Mentorship & guidance — provides lower-level modeling personnel with design sketches and guidance; mentors production staff.
• Interfaces with clients, agencies, and subconsultants on model deliverable requirements.
• Performs related fundamental engineering support tasks and reviews.
