Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an experienced Intelligent Modeling Coordinator to join our team. You will coordinate intelligent models across architecture, structures, transportation, and MEP, ensuring a federated, clash-checked deliverable across the project lifecycle.

The role requires extensive CADD/BIM knowledge, strong communication, and mentoring abilities to develop staff across offices. Travel may be required for project needs, with opportunities to work on transit and multimodal projects.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with vocational training in CADD drafting and intelligent modeling.
• 12 years of related experience.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
• Experience coordinating models across disciplines.
• Knowledge of transit agency and DOT design standards.
• Ability to mentor production staff.

Responsibilities

• Cross-discipline coordination of intelligent models for transit and multimodal projects.
• Run clash detection in Navisworks and resolve conflicts.
• Establish and enforce CADD/BIM standards and templates.
• Mentor production staff and provide design sketches.
• Develop BIM Execution Plans and model-based deliverables.
• Interface with clients, agencies, and subconsultants on model requirements.
• Manage model health, versioning, and interoperability.
• Review prints from manufacturers/fabricators.
• Perform design calculations and establish design criteria.
• Provide input during planning stages.
