Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Intelligent Modeling Coordinator to lead cross-discipline BIM coordination for transit and multimodal projects. The role involves integrating architecture, vertical structures, transportation structures, roadway design, and MEP into federated, clash-checked models throughout the project lifecycle.

You will supervise and mentor production staff, set BIM standards, perform model health checks, and coordinate with clients and subconsultants.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with vocational technical training in basic CADD drafting technology and intelligent modeling.
• 12 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Experience coordinating intelligent models across multiple disciplines (architecture, vertical/transportation structures, roadway, and MEP).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate intelligent models across disciplines into a federated, clash-checked model.
• Run clash detection in Navisworks and resolve across disciplines.
• Establish, document, and enforce BIM standards and workflows across offices.
• Mentor production staff and provide design sketches for finished drawings.
• Review drawings for consistency with firm standards and QC procedures.
• Provide general engineering support tasks (plotting, transmittals, file management).
