Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an experienced Intelligent Modeling Coordinator to lead civil and multimodal project modeling. You will coordinate across architecture, vertical structures, transportation structures, roadway design and MEP to deliver federated, clash-checked models throughout the project lifecycle.

You will run Navisworks clash detection, enforce CADD/BIM standards, mentor staff, prepare design sketches, and support pursuit teams with LOE, LOD, and data handoff to clients and agencies.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with vocational technical training in basic CADD drafting technology and intelligent modeling.
• 12 years of related experience.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Cross-discipline coordination of intelligent models across architecture, vertical structures, transportation structures, roadway design, and MEP.
• Model coordination and clash detection using Navisworks; lead resolution across disciplines.
• Establish and enforce CADD/BIM standards, templates, and workflows with Autodesk tools.
• Mentor and train production staff across offices to build institutional capability.
• Act as Intelligent Modeling Coordinator to ensure coordination between design teams.
• Crosscheck drawings for consistency with layering guidelines and QC standards.
• Provide CADD/technical support: plotting, transmittals, file management, and simple calculations.
• Review manufacturers' prints to aid design documents.
• Determine material needs and perform calculations per firm standards.
• Establish design criteria for project phases using engineering principles.
