Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an experienced Intelligent Modeling Coordinator to support transit and multimodal projects with federated, clash-checked models across architecture, vertical structures, roadway design and MEP.

You will coordinate deliverables, run Navisworks clash detection, and establish BIM standards while mentoring staff and interfacing with clients and agencies to ensure data handoffs meet project criteria.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with vocational technical training in basic CADD drafting technology and intelligent modeling.
• 12 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Cross-discipline coordination — coordinate intelligent models across architecture, vertical structures, transportation structures, roadway design, and MEP.
• Agency & DOT standards — build and enforce CADD/BIM standards compliant with transit agency and DOT criteria.
• Software fluency — expert-level Autodesk stack usage for production and coordination (Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks).
• Mentor production staff across geographies and offices.
• Perform model coordination and clash detection to ensure early conflict resolution.
• Establish BIM Execution Plans and model-based deliverables scope.
• Interface with clients, agencies, and subconsultants on deliverable requirements and data handoff standards.
