Analytical Mechanics Associates (AMA) seeks a part-time CAD Model Design Intern to support NASA Langley’s Flight Dynamics Research Facility. The role focuses on developing free flight and forced oscillation models for rapid prototype fabrication, including geometry variations and testing to gather static and dynamic stability data.

Responsibilities include creating CAD models in .igs or .stp formats, designing oscillation configurations, and enabling movable center of gravity for wind-tunnel

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or graduate student in mechanical or aerospace engineering.

Responsibilities

• Develop models in .igs or .stp and the native CAD format used for design work.
• Create CAD models for oscillation configurations with mounting interface at reference points.
• Design geometry to accommodate thermal inset fasteners for secure mounting to the balance sting.
• Create CAD solid models of wind tunnel models using FDM 3D printing or similar.
• Design models to enable a movable center of gravity.
