Job summary

CSG Consultants, Inc. is seeking an Associate Plan Check Engineer in Foster City, CA. The role involves technical review of construction documents for residential and multi-family projects to ensure compliance with California Building Standards Codes and referenced standards.

You will read drawings, calculations, soils reports and other documents, using engineering judgment to address life-safety and code requirements. Travel to client sites may be required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years reviewing plans to California Building Standards Codes and Referenced Standards.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Possession of Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required.
• ICC/ CASp certifications or equivalent as applicable for the role.

Responsibilities

• Conduct technical review of residential and multi-family construction documents.
• Verify conformance with California Building Standards Codes and referenced standards.
• Assess design adequacy using engineering judgment for life-safety and code compliance.
• Review maps, diagrams, plans and specifications for code compliance.
