Job Description:

The CFO Process Excellence Team is part of the COO & Governance Organization within Bank of America. This team leads high-impact process improvement and operational excellence initiatives across the Finance Organization. The Business Strategy & Initiatives Manager will play a critical role in driving strategic projects, managing cross-functional initiatives, and influencing stakeholders at all levels without formal authority. This role requires a blend of strategy, operations, and project management expertise, combined with strong soft skills and a high degree of adaptability.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Framework Development: Design and implement structured approaches to identify, prioritize, and address complex business challenges across the organization.
  • Project Leadership: Lead strategic, cross-functional projects, ensuring consistency and coherence across related work streams. Act as a bridge between business units, providing guidance and feedback to junior team members.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build credibility and trust with senior leaders and stakeholders, including band 2 and band 1 leaders, to drive buy-in and collaboration. Act as a strategic partner, gathering input from business experts and aligning projects with organizational goals.
  • Metrics and Progress Tracking: Establish success metrics, monitor project milestones, and escalate issues as needed to ensure timely delivery and impact.
  • Workshops and Presentations: Conduct workshops and presentations to educate business partners, share project outcomes, and communicate key insights effectively.
  • Continuous Improvement: Demonstrate a commitment to operational excellence by identifying opportunities to streamline processes and improve outcomes.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in finance, consulting, process improvement, strategy, or operations.
  • Consulting Experience: experience in any type of consulting (human capital, strategy, operations, or finance) is highly valued. Candidates from investment banking or similar environments will be considered if they possess strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel is essential, as these tools are regularly used for presentations and data analysis.
  • Strong communication, adaptability, collaboration, and the ability to influence without formal authority. Proven track record of building trust and credibility within an organization.
  • Highly motivated and committed to delivering results, with a strong sense of initiative and personal ownership.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities and demands.
  • Stakeholder Influence: Demonstrated experience influencing senior leaders and aligning diverse teams toward common goals.
