Job Title: Business Development Representative
Location: Remote
Looking for a Business Development Representative who is curious, competitive, comfortable picking up the phone, and genuinely interested in learning how enterprise software gets sold. This isn’t a role where you’ll spend your day waiting for someone to hand you a list of leads. You’ll take an active role in building opportunities - researching companies, identifying the right people, starting conversations, asking thoughtful questions, and working alongside our Account Executives and Marketing team to help turn interest into real sales opportunities.
Job Description:
- Prospecting into companies that fit our ideal customer profile through phone, email, LinkedIn, events, campaigns, and good old-fashioned research.
- Following up quickly and thoughtfully with prospects who engage.
- Working directly with Account Executives to develop account strategies and break into high-value organizations.
- Learning enough about a prospect’s operation to understand what is happening, why it matters, and whether we can help.
- Identifying the people involved in the buying decision and finding ways to engage multiple stakeholders.
- Using the tools available to identify the right prospects, ask better questions, and schedule qualification calls with the Sales Development Manager.
- Keeping Salesforce accurate and up to date - because if it didn’t happen in Salesforce, we’re going to pretend it didn’t happen.
- Learning our market, competitors, customers, and the supply chain challenges our technology solves.
- Experimenting with new approaches. If you have a smarter way to get someone’s attention, we want to hear it.
- Your job is not simply to book meetings. Your job is to create conversations worth having.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in sales, business development, or the supply chain industry
- Curious and willing to ask thoughtful questions to better understand prospects and their business needs.
- Coachable, with a willingness to learn, receive feedback, and continuously improve.
- Comfortable working collaboratively as part of a team while taking ownership of individual results.
- Willing to challenge existing approaches, contribute new ideas, and identify better ways of working.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office, web meeting tools, Salesforce or another CRM, LinkedIn, and common prospecting and research tools.
- Previous experience in B2B sales, business development, SaaS, or supply chain is a plus, but not required. Potential, work ethic, curiosity, and the ability to learn are equally important.
- Ability to travel on a limited basis for company meetings and selected industry events.
