Job summary

Morgan McKinley is seeking an ambitious Business Development Representative to join a growing enterprise SaaS organisation and drive new business opportunities. You will engage senior stakeholders and develop meaningful conversations that convert into long-term relationships.

As a BDR, you will identify prospects, generate qualified meetings for Account Executives, and conduct targeted outreach across email, phone, LinkedIn, and other channels.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a BDR, SDR or similar sales development role within B2B SaaS.
  • Experience selling into or prospecting enterprise businesses and engaging with senior stakeholders.
  • A strong understanding of SaaS sales and the enterprise buying process.
  • Experience with outbound prospecting and building pipeline from cold accounts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to research prospects and create relevant, compelling messaging.
  • A consultative approach to sales — you’re interested in understanding a prospect's challenges rather than simply delivering a pitch.
  • Strong commercial awareness and the confidence to speak with business leaders.
  • Resilience, persistence and the ability to handle rejection positively.
  • A data-driven mindset and a track record of working towards measurable targets.
  • Excellent organisation and time-management skills.
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively with Account Executives, Marketing and wider teams.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and engage prospective customers within target enterprise accounts.
  • Generate qualified meetings and new business opportunities for Account Executives.
  • Conduct thoughtful, personalised outreach across email, phone, LinkedIn and other relevant channels.
  • Research organisations, industries and key stakeholders to understand their business priorities and challenges.
  • Initiate conversations with senior decision-makers and influencers across enterprise organisations.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the company's SaaS solutions and how they address customer challenges.
  • Qualify inbound and outbound opportunities, understanding business needs, timing, decision processes and potential fit.
  • Work closely with Account Executives to develop account strategies and ensure a smooth transition from initial conversation through to discovery.
  • Partner with Marketing to maximise the impact of campaigns, events and demand-generation activity.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date activity, prospect and pipeline information within the CRM.
  • Consistently achieve and exceed agreed activity, meeting and pipeline targets.
  • Continuously test and improve messaging, outreach strategies and prospecting approaches.
