We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Business Development Manager with specialized experience in aerospace enclosures/thermoforming to drive growth and expand our presence in the aerospace sector. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of aerospace materials and processes, particularly thermoforming of plastics and composites, and will play a pivotal role in identifying new opportunities and expanding our footprint in the aerospace sector.
Key Responsibilities

- Identify and develop new business opportunities within the aerospace and defense sectors, focusing on thermoformed components and assemblies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at OEMs, Tier 1, and Tier 2 suppliers.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to develop customized solutions that meet client specifications and regulatory standards.
- Lead RFI/RFQ responses, proposal development, pricing strategies, and contract negotiations.
- Develop account plans that show targeted growth for both commercial and military applications
- Attend industry events, trade shows, and conferences to promote company capabilities and gather market intelligence.
- Analyze market trends, competitor offerings, and customer needs to drive product development and strategic planning.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders (engineering, manufacturing, quality, etc.) to ensure project alignment and successful delivery.
- Achieve or exceed sales targets, pipeline goals, and profitability metrics.
Education & Skills Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Aerospace, Materials Science, or related field. MBA is a plus.
- Proven experience as Business Development Manager of a Aerospace Thermoforming facility
- Knowledge of plastic materials, molds, and thermoforming
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced production environment and flexible with shifts as needed.
- Minimum 5+ years of business development or technical sales experience in the aerospace industry, with a focus on thermoforming or plastic manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of aerospace regulatory standards (e.g., FAA, AS9100, NADCAP) and material specifications.
- Proven track record of winning and managing large customer accounts within the aerospace industry.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
Preferred Experience & Skills:
- Hands-on knowledge of thermoforming processes including pressure forming, vacuum forming, and twin-sheet forming.
- Experience working with high-performance thermoplastics (e.g., PEI, PPS, PEEK, polycarbonate) used in aerospace interiors or structural components.
- Working knowledge of CAD drawings, tolerances, and manufacturing feasibility assessments.
- Experience with aerospace interior systems, ECS ducting, avionics housings, or similar thermoformed applications.
- Network of existing relationships in the aerospace sector is highly desirable.

Expected Hours of Work
This is a Full-Time salary position required to work Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime as needed.
