Business Development Manager - West Coast (Remote Opportunity)

ALG Vacations (ALGV), part of Hyatt, is recognized for providing the industry's leading leisure travel experiences worldwide. As North America's leading vertically integrated travel, hospitality, and leisure management group, we oversee all aspects of vacations from booking to return. Grow your career as a Business Development Manager within ALG Vacations. You will represent and sell Travel Impressions, Apple Vacations, Funjet Vacations, United Vacations, Southwest Vacations, Blue Sky Tours in your territory, developing strong agency relationships to grow revenue and profitability. You will adopt a consultative selling approach to identify opportunities, leverage preferred relationships, and execute engagement plans. The current territory includes top accounts on the West Coast, including CA, OR, WA, NV, HI, and ID, but is subject to change.

Essential Functions:

  1. Develop strategic alliances with travel agents and agencies.
  2. Leverage preferred relationships to gain commitments and increase revenue.
  3. Use a consultative sales approach to match agency needs with ALG VACATIONS products.
  4. Secure revenue commitments and implement plans to realize them.
  5. Maintain engagement plans for top accounts.
  6. Achieve sales targets by managing and growing your territory.
  7. Respond promptly to agent needs and issues.
  8. Represent ALG VACATIONS at events to cultivate new business and revenue.
  9. Create brand loyalty through marketing tools, education, and differentiation.
  10. Use reporting tools to analyze profitability and trends.
  11. Promote distribution through VAX booking platform.
  12. Document activities via sales reporting tools.
  13. Monitor and report on competitive activities.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  2. Travel industry experience preferred; transferable sales experience considered.
  3. Based within the territory, preferably California, with up to 70% travel.
  4. Strong customer service, marketing, sales, and negotiation skills.
  5. Ability to analyze reports and data.
  6. Excellent communication and listening skills.
