Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Business Development Manager to own a market of general contractors, owners, developers, and design firms. You will manage relationships, the pipeline, and close deals, while a seller-doer engineer prices and seals the technical side.

Base salary ranges $85,000 to $115,000 with commission on collected revenue. Expect local travel and occasional trips to Sugar Land HQ. Build a robust pipeline through pre-bid meetings, proposals, and ongoing client events.

Qualifications

• 5+ years selling professional or technical services to the construction industry.
• Existing network of contractors, owners, or design firms in the market of the posting.
• Comfort talking specifications and schedules with superintendents and contract terms with owners.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage a target list of contractors, owners, developers, and design firms.
• Own relationships end to end from first contact to signed agreement.
• Coordinate proposals with engineering: scope, pricing, qualifications.
• Track permits, bid boards, and project announcements to find work before it is awarded.
• Represent the company at industry associations, pre-bid meetings, and client events.
• Report pipeline and results monthly.
