Job summary

Construction Material Testing in Houston seeks a Business Development Manager to own the market by building relationships with general contractors, owners, developers and design firms, coordinating with a seller-doer engineer on pricing and the technical side.

You will manage the pipeline in CRM, track permits and bids, run proposals through engineering, and represent the company at industry events. Base salary plus commission on collected revenue, with travel to Sugar Land HQ.

Qualifications

• 5+ years selling professional or technical services to the construction industry—testing, inspection, engineering, equipment, or subcontracting.
• An existing network of contractors, owners, or design firms in the market.
• Disciplined pipeline habits: documented, forecastable, and honest.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage a target list of contractors, owners, developers, and design firms; own relationships end to end.
• Track permits, bid boards, and project announcements to pursue work before awards.
• Coordinate proposals with the engineering team: scope, pricing, qualifications, and follow-up.
• Represent the company at industry associations, pre-bid meetings, and client events.
• Report pipeline and results monthly.
• Run the pursuit pipeline in the CRM from first contact through proposal, negotiation, and signed agreement.
