Job summary

Westmoreland County Transit Authority seeks a skilled diesel/mechanical technician to maintain and repair authority vehicles, perform safety inspections, and handle road/service calls. The role requires CDL with air brakes and passenger endorsement, strong knowledge of fleet maintenance, and the ability to follow safety procedures and reports in English.

On-site position with regular shift expectations and adherence to DOT regulations.

Qualifications

• Requires and maintains a Pennsylvania CDL license with air brakes and passenger endorsement.
• Requires CDL medical examination/certification every two years or as specified by physician.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Ability to read and understand mapping.
• Knowledge of Westmoreland County and local routes.
• Must have acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Must be able to report to work seven days a week or during hours of operations.
• Participate in Authority training sessions outside regular shifts when necessary.
• Wear a company-prescribed uniform during work hours.
• Maintain regular attendance in accordance with Authority standards.
• Communicate with supervisory personnel regarding changes in medications, license status, accidents, and violations.
• Follow training requirements and stay current with local/state traffic rules and vehicle operations.
