Job summary

Ann Arbor Area Transportation Authority is seeking a full-time Fleet Maintenance Technician to service light and heavy transit equipment. Under supervision you will perform routine maintenance and repairs, assist others, and coordinate daily work with a maintenance team.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED with 2 years of repair experience, 1 year auto/diesel maintenance with training, and the ability to obtain a Michigan CDL Class B with passenger endorsement within 6 months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 2 years of repair experience.
• 1 year automotive/diesel maintenance with formal training.
• Certifications must be passed within 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with team daily to coordinate work.
• Perform routine maintenance and repair of systems (excluding major diesel engine repair).
• Assist in rebuilding vehicles and accessories including meters, interiors, electronics, and HVAC systems.
• Plan and organize daily maintenance activities with the team.
• Inspect equipment in field and shop and perform temporary repairs as needed.
• Prepare vehicle specifications and maintenance work orders.
