Job summary

FRANKLIN TRANSIT MANAGEMENT, INC. is seeking a General Maintenance Worker to support our maintenance staff and perform preventative maintenance on a fleet that includes buses, vans, and other company vehicles.

The role requires a Class B CDL with passenger and air brakes endorsements and relevant vehicle maintenance experience. The ideal candidate can work independently or as part of a team, with a positive attitude and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED is required.
• Current CDL Class B license with passenger and air brakes endorsements is required at time of employment or within a specified period.
• Current DPU documentation and related medical documentation are required at time of employment or soon after.
• Vehicle maintenance experience is required; fleet and heavy-duty maintenance experience is preferred.
• Incumbent must be able to read and write; basic computer knowledge is expected.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and general repairs on fleet and equipment as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
• Work independently for periods of time and assist in building maintenance as needed.
• Assist with duties of the Utility Worker when required.
• Maintain safety and quality standards during vehicle inspections and repairs.
