Job summary

Botetourt County Public Schools seeks a dedicated Mechanic to inspect, repair and maintain buses, automobiles, trucks and equipment at the Transportation Center in Fincastle, VA. The role requires hands-on repair of transmissions, electrical systems, brakes, and engines, plus routine maintenance and state inspections.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, experience with buses/trucks, and a Virginia CDL/State Inspector license.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED.
• Experience repairing buses, trucks or automotive equipment.
• Valid Virginia State Police issued State Inspectors License.
• Diesel License.
• CDL within 90 days and completion of bus driver training program.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and repair buses, automobiles, trucks and equipment.
• Repair transmissions, electrical, emission, brake, steering and engine systems.
• Perform routine maintenance and annual state inspections.
• Weld using electrical and gas welding equipment; upholstery and window glass repair.
