Job summary

• Minimum two years financial or accounting experience, preferably in an academic environment.
• Strong math and accounting skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, compliance-oriented environment.

• Demonstrate integrity, discretion, strong work ethic, and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Administer the disbursement of federal funds and alternative funding options, ensuring compliance with regulations and institutional policies.
• Oversee third‑party billing processes and payments, coordinating with stakeholders for timely transactions.
• Manage the timely processing and return of Title IV refunds while monitoring tuition obligations.
• Perform and track all third-party billing (WIA, TA, Vocational Rehabilitation) and ensure accurate student accounts.
• Closeout process for student accounts related to drops and graduates and prepare reports for accrediting agencies.
• Regularly review student accounts and ledgers to ensure sufficient funding for tuition and related charges.
• Meet with students to discuss payment schedules and establish arrangements.
• Process and record student refunds within 30 days of the drop date, including exit paperwork.
• Document transactions in Anthology (ESI notes, TA forms) to maintain records.
• Prepare and submit weekly deposits and monthly AP submissions to accounting.
• Receive and upload signed Student Portal Agreements and maintain office inventory.
• Attend Census Meetings and Bursar trainings; engage in professional development.
• Participate in onboarding and mentoring of new employees; support positive work culture.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor to support the bursar’s office.
