Southern University at New Orleans seeks a Bursar/Director of Student Accounts to lead billing, payments, collections, and related financial compliance. The role reports to the Comptroller and partners with Finance, Financial Aid, Registrar, and other offices to enhance the student financial experience.

The position requires a degree in accounting/finance or related field with several years in student financial services, including supervisory responsibilities, and strong knowledge of FERPA,

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field with at least three years in student financial services.
• Progressively responsible experience in student financial services or accounts receivable.
• Experience supervising staff or teams.
• Knowledge of FERPA and Title IV requirements.
• Experience using student information systems or ERP/financial software.

Responsabilidades

• Direct daily operations of Student Accounts including billing, receivables, collections, and refunds.
• Ensure timely/billing and accurate assessment of tuition, fees, and other charges; maintain billing controls.
• Develop and evaluate procedures and internal controls for accuracy and compliance.
• Monitor balances, aging, collections, and coordinate with outside agencies as needed.
• Prepare financial reports, forecasts, and operational updates for leadership.
