Job summary

SGS North America Inc. is seeking a Petroleum Inspector to perform sampling, gauging, and reconciliation of hydrocarbon cargo transfers across shore, barge, and ship operations. You will work under SGS procedures and API standards to ensure accurate testing and reporting.

The role requires basic English, a valid driver's license, and adherence to safety practices. Some experience in the field and participation in the Inspector Development Program are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent required.
• 6 months to 2 years transferrable industry experience preferred.
• Completion of Inspector Development Program Level preferred.

Responsibilities

• Physically samples, measures, and temperatures vessel tanks and shore tanks per API/ SGS procedures.
• Follows safety standards and executes tasks efficiently.
• Calculates and reports quantities and performs full reconciliation.
• Completes reports using SGS Ship Inspection Report (SIR) or SAT systems.
• Coordinates with client representatives, US Customs, vessel personnel and shore facility staff.
• Maintains communication on job status and adheres to standards.
