Job summary

SGS North America Inc. is seeking a Petroleum Inspector to perform sampling, gauging, testing and reconciliation of transfer operations for hydrocarbon cargoes. You will prepare reports and work with clients, regulatory personnel and facility staff to ensure accuracy and safety.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • 6 months to 2 years of transferrable industry experience preferred.
  • Completion of internal Inspector Development Program Level preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • TWIC and IFIA certifications preferred; maintain validity as required.

Responsibilities

  • Physically sample and measure vessel tanks and shore tanks according to API procedures.
  • Calculate and report quantities of transferred hydrocarbons and perform reconciliation.
  • Complete reports using SGS Ship Inspection Report (SIR) and Site Acceptance Test (SAT).
  • Coordinate with client representatives, US Customs, vessel personnel and shore facility staff.
  • Maintain communication on job status and adhere to safety and company standards.
  • Assist in back-office duties and other branch tasks as assigned.
