Job summary

SGS is seeking a Petroleum Inspector in Midland, TX to perform sampling, gauging, and reconciliation of hydrocarbon cargo transfers. The role requires adherence to API procedures, safety standards, and SGS policies. You will generate reports and collaborate with clients and vessel crews.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma, limited industry experience, and a valid driver’s license; TWIC and IFIA are preferred. This on-site position supports various branch duties as needed.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent (Required)
• 6 months to 2 years of transferrable industry experience (Preferred)
• Completion of internal Inspector Development Program Level (Preferred)
• Valid Driver’s License (Required)
• TWIC card and IFIA certification are preferred

Responsibilities

• Samples, measures, and heats tank contents per API procedures.
• Follows SAFETY standards and performs duties per procedures.
• Calculates quantities and reconciles transfers between tanks.
• Completes reports using SGS SIR/SAT systems.
• Coordinates with client, customs, vessel and shore personnel.
• Keeps management informed of status and issues.
• Adheres to SGS integrity and safety policies.
• Supports back-office duties as needed.
