Qualifications

  • Detailed working knowledge of macOS and Windows, ChromeOS; also iOS/iPadOS.
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively in writing and speech.
  • Ability to work independently and to follow data privacy rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Configure and maintain Apple, Windows, and Chromebook devices for teachers, staff, and students.
  • Provide support for software applications including Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, Canvas, Infinite Campus.
  • Support classroom technology and curriculum tools (TV displays, iPads, digital cameras, etc.).
  • Provide training and consultation to staff on operation and use of technology.
  • Assist teachers in integrating technology into curriculum and support testing windows.

Building Technology Professional Effective immediately the Human Resources Office will accept online applications for a Building Technology Professional position. The position is scheduled to work full time, 185 days per year, non-affiliated position,$27.32 per hour plus benefits.

Primary Function: The Technology Professional is the first line of support for building level technical support, providing technical assistance for staff and student use of technology in the school building. The Technology Support position ensures school site technology is maintained and operates correctly. This position troubleshoots and resolves technical problems in the building. The position also supports teachers in their use of technology for curriculum delivery and student engagement.

Line of Supervision: Assistant Director of Technology and Building Principal

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent. College or technical degree preferred.
  • Two years related computer experience supporting/troubleshooting computer hardware, software and connectivity – wired and wireless.
  • Detailed working knowledge of macOS and Windows, ChromeOS.
  • Detailed working knowledge of supporting iOS and iPadOS.
  • Ability to troubleshoot computer problems and work independently without direct supervision in the deployment and repair of hardware and software.
  • Knowledge and ability to support TVs, Apple TV's, printers, Airtame, document cameras, LCD projectors, digital cameras, video cameras, and other building technology.
  • Must have excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with employees at all levels in the building and district office as well as with people outside the organization.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
  • Ability to understand and follow data privacy rules and regulations related to students and staff.
  • Must have the ability and proven record of reporting to work on a regular and punctual basis.

Essential functions of the job include but are not limited to the following:

  • Configure and maintain Apple, Windows, and Chromebook devices for teachers, staff and students.
  • Provide support for software applications including: Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, Canvas, Infinite Campus, and building specific software.
  • Provide support for curriculum tools such as TV displays, iPads, digital cameras and other electronic devices.
  • Provide instruction to and assistance/consultation with staff on operation and use of technology.
  • Support students and staff during testing windows. Ensure hardware and software work properly. Prepare computers for testing sessions.
  • Manage building technology equipment, inventory, and storage.
  • Assist teachers in integrating technology into the classroom curriculum.
  • Support teachers in the use of the Student Information System (Infinite Campus).
  • Provide training for site technology found in multi-purpose spaces such as: auditoriums, gyms, athletic fields, cafeterias.
  • Prior to the start of the school year, ensure building technology equipment is clean, properly enrolled and ready for use by students and staff.
  • Provide refresher training for teachers and staff at the start of the school year as needed.
  • Offer technology training throughout the school year.
  • At the end of each school year: disperse classroom inventory check-off lists to ensure the proper summer storage of equipment. Collect, clean and store building technology equipment.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

Regularly required to move about the building providing computer assistance to staff; ability to crawl, stoop, reach, etc., in order to troubleshoot computer/printer problems and/or install/remove equipment; must have the ability to communicate with staff in person, by phone and via e-mail; and must have the ability to lift up to 30 pounds unassisted and up to 50 pounds with assistance.
