Job Description

Responsible for comprehensive technology support at multiple buildings, including help-desk assistance for staff, students, and families, support and maintenance of student devices, classroom technology troubleshooting, coordination of EdTech applications, and inventory management. Serves as the primary technology resource for school-based users and works collaboratively with the district tech department to ensure seamless technology integration and support within the school. This position will involve driving between several locations on a consistent basis.

Responsibilities
  1. Serve as the first responder to all technology needs and requests that arise within the building in a positive, professional manner with a can‑do attitude and proactively communicate status updates to all inquiries.
  2. Monitor and respond quickly and effectively to requests for technology assistance received via telephone, email, or in person, ensuring every inquiry is addressed in the shortest amount of time possible with the best resolution available.
  3. Provide in‑person and remote support for problems related to common software, hardware, and working practices, including verbal, written, or recorded step‑by‑step instructions to building staff and students.
  4. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technology issues related to computers, wireless devices, classroom peripherals, telephony systems, Google products, and other district‑approved technology systems; coordinate all aspects of student device programming including distribution, repair, receiving, inventory, policies and procedures, training and support.
  5. Support student technology devices including setup, troubleshooting, inventory tracking, enrollment in mobile device management (MDM) systems, and distribution to students as needed.
  6. Manage and maintain the school’s technology inventory including receiving, tracking, check‑in/out, and preparing devices for use or return.
  7. Create and maintain user accounts and user permissions on technology systems as requested by building and district administration.
  8. Provide building‑level training and support for staff and students on commonly used technology applications and devices, including creating help documentation for frequent issues.
  9. Communicate technical information to end users in a clear and accessible manner regardless of their technical experience level.
  10. Prepare and support student devices for special uses such as assessments and other district initiatives, coordinating with the district tech department as needed.
  11. Assist with classroom technology setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting to support instructional delivery.
  12. Monitor, track, and document support requests, solutions, and outcomes to identify patterns and inform the building and district technology teams of needs.
  13. Continuously seek to broaden knowledge and skills by researching technology problems and solutions to stay current with district technology systems.
  14. Assist with technology purchasing recommendations and inventory management at the building level.
  15. Demonstrate commitment to building and maintaining a safe, fair, and respectful working and learning environment that honors the cultural diversity of students and staff.
  16. Perform other duties as assigned by the school principal or supervisor.
  17. Communicate effectively with district staff, administrators, students, families, vendors, and community partners regarding technology initiatives, support, and implementation processes.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
  • Preferred certifications: CompTIA A+, HDI Desktop Advanced Support Technician, MD‑100 Windows 10, Apple Certified Support Professional, Jamf 100, or similar
  • 2+ years of technical support experience, including help‑desk support, device troubleshooting, and maintenance of computers and technology peripherals
  • Ability to support overall troubleshooting for classroom and education technology systems including audio/video
  • Experience with Google Suite of products and platforms
  • Experience with mobile device management (MDM) systems
  • Experience with student information systems (SIS) or device management software
  • Experience with Microsoft OS and macOS ecosystems and products
  • Experience managing technology inventory systems
  • Experience providing quality customer service in a school or educational setting preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent time‑management and organizational skills
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

Vision: Ability to read small print and view a computer screen for prolonged periods.

Hearing: Ability to tolerate exposure to noisy conditions.

Speech: Ability to be understood in face‑to‑face communications, to speak with a level of proficiency and volume to be understood over a telephone or computer.

Upper Body Mobility: Ability to use hands to grasp, and manipulate small objects; manipulate fingers, twist and bend at wrist and elbow; extend arms to reach outward and upward; use hands and arms to lift objects; turn, raise, and lower head.

Strength: Ability to lift, push, pull and/or carry objects which weigh as much as 50 or more pounds on a frequent basis. Incumbent may be required to physically restrain parties involved in a conflict.

Environmental Requirements: Ability to encounter constant work interruptions; work cooperatively with others; work independently; work indoors.

Mental Requirements: Ability to read, write, understand, interpret and apply information at a moderately complex level essential for successful job performance; math skills at a high school proficiency level; judgement and the ability to process information quickly; learn quickly and follow verbal procedures and standards; give verbal instruction; rank tasks in order of importance; copy, compare, compile and coordinate information and records; understand and practice stress management.
