Job summary

Washington County is seeking a Building Systems Technician II to maintain, operate, and repair mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems across county buildings. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and a combined three years of related experience or vocational training.

A State of Minnesota Special Boilers License is required, with a Class 2-C Boilers License to be obtained within the first year. Travel between buildings is expected, and a valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and a combination of three years of full-time work experience in building operations and maintenance and/or vocational training courses related to building operations and maintenance, or equivalent.
• State of Minnesota Special Boilers License is required and must obtain and maintain a Class 2-C Boilers License within the first year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, operate, and repair mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems in county buildings.
• Monitor performance and report deficiencies or malfunctions to supervisor.
• Assist contractors in highly skilled work as needed.
• Respond to building and grounds issues, including after normal business hours.
• Perform snow and ice control tasks as needed.
