Job summary

Lincoln Property Company is seeking a Building Engineer I to maintain and troubleshoot building systems in an in-office role. You will perform routine maintenance, respond to tenant requests, and support senior engineers in safe operation and system reliability.

The position emphasizes hands-on work with HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems, requires local licenses, and offers a pathway to professional development within a nationwide property management firm.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of related experience or commensurate certification/trade experience.
• Engineering and trade licenses required per local, state, or national requirements.
• CFC Certification preferred.
• Developing familiarity with HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems; gaining experience with BAS operation and troubleshooting.
• Basic skills with Microsoft Office Outlook and work order systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled maintenance, repairs, and inspections of building systems.
• Address service requests including hot/cold calls, plumbing issues, and lighting repairs.
• Troubleshoot minor equipment malfunctions and escalate as needed.
• Replace light fixtures, filters, and other components as required.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections and equipment performance.
• Conduct property inspections and assist with preventive maintenance tasks and contractor oversight.
• Follow safety protocols and use PPE; ensure OSHA/NFC/NFPA compliance; report hazards.
