Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield in Chicago is seeking a Union Operating Engineer responsible for the efficient operation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems across the portfolio. You will perform rounds, preventive maintenance, repairs and housekeeping to ensure a safe, comfortable environment.

Candidates should have 5+ years in similar facility operations, a high school diploma or GED, trade/apprentice training, and appropriate licenses.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; apprentice/trade school preferred.
• Minimum 5+ years of related operating mechanical/electrical/plumbing systems.
• Valid trade license or permits may be required depending on market.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance per standards.
• Repair/replace components and calibrate controls.
• Monitor energy management systems.
• Ensure safety and life-safety compliance; NFPA standards.
